Co-Founder / Master Craftsman
Kevin is an accomplished master craftsman and a teacher at The Yorkshire hut Company, with 35 years of experience in handcrafting unique products and a BA Hons in Design Kevin’s has much expertise in his work.
From a very young age, Kevin nurtured a deep-rooted passion for creating exceptional products and working with timber. Over the years, he has developed a diverse range of skills, knowledge, and experience spanning from construction to fine furniture making. Kevin's dedication is evident in the meticulous attention to detail he brings to every project. His extensive experience allows him to navigate complex challenges with ease, delivering outstanding results consistently.
Kevin possesses exceptional communication skills, enabling him to effectively share his wealth of knowledge and inspire the next generation of craftsmen, having trained numerous apprentices in architectural joinery over the years.
Pennie Lordan
Co-Founder / Business Manager
Pennie, an accomplished business manager, brings a unique blend of art and design expertise to The Yorkshire Hut Company. Alongside Kevin, Pennie co-founded the company fuelled by a shared passion for designing and creating high quality shepherd's huts, outdoor saunas and cold plunges that go beyond mere aesthetics.
Their vision includes a strong commitment to environmental responsibility while delivering exceptional products and services to clients. In her role as business manager, Pennie assumes a crucial position, overseeing the entire process from design to delivery and is an excellent communicator. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of art and design principles, Pennie ensures that each outdoor sauna, cold plunge and shepherd's hut not only meets the highest standards of functionality but also embodies the company's commitment to environmental sustainability.
Pennie's meticulous approach ensures that every aspect of the project is executed with precision and care. From the initial design concept to the final delivery, she coordinates and guides the team, ensuring that each client receives a truly remarkable product and service experience with excellent communication.
Theo Lordan
Fully Qualified Architectural Joiner
Theo, a highly skilled individual, embarked on his journey with The Yorkshire Hut Company as our sixth apprentice as we believe in passing skills forward. Over the course of seven years, Theo has seamlessly integrated himself into the family business with a paralleled passion and commitment having observed the business develop since childhood and been actively involved in it since his early teens.
Theo began his training at Leeds Arts University and honed his craft and further solidified his expertise by completing a three-year apprenticeship in Architectural Bench Joinery. His contributions to the team and the company as a whole are immeasurable. Theo possesses an exceptional eye for detail, demonstrating meticulousness in his work. His craftsmanship is of the highest calibre, showcasing his dedication and passion for his profession.

Our timber is certified by both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), ensuring sustainable sourcing from responsibly managed forests that protect environmental, social, and economic standards worldwide.
Natural insulation.
We use locally sourced British sheep's wool, providing superior natural insulation that offers exceptional thermal performance and provides excellent energy efficiency. It's the eco-friendly insulation solution for our energy-efficient, sustainable outdoor living spaces.
Recycled materials.
Our wheels are crafted from recycled brake pads, cast in our local foundry using our own custom designed pattern. Directly sourcing and repurposing industrial materials, creates sustainable, high-quality products reducing environmental waste.
